Jacqueline Peperkamp Workshops

Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2009

Saturday, 10am-12pm — Sharing Tribal Jewels Format
Over the past 5 years Jacqueline and Tribal Jewels have created various dance steps and combos for both fast and slow repertoire. Steps will be clearly explained then drilled. These dance steps were created to compliment our current tribal belly dance knowledge, whether FCBD or Gypsy Caravan Format. These moves feel familiar, useful and practical. All levels welcome.
What to bring: zills (optional).

Saturday, 1pm-3pm — Tribal Props and Troupe Formatting
Tribal props can be exciting for you as a dancer or performer and interesting for the audience. Add a prop or two, whether you’re in an improvisation chorus line or as a soloist. We will talk about each prop and its place in a theatrical style choreography. Your audience will be entertained from start to finish. Add a magical touch and draw the audience in!
What to bring (any of the following): zills, baskets, silk veils (or similar) and swords. Knee pads (optional).

Sunday, 10am-12pm — Tribal Jewels Contemporary Bellydance
Jacqueline will share her latest released contemporary dance steps from her past career in contemporary dance. This collection of ‘danceworks’ consists of slow fluid movements, striking poses and a few abstract shapes. It’s unique, different and a rare specialty!
What to wear: melodia pants or harems (not skirts please).

Sunday, 1pm-3pm — Silk Fan Veil Technique
This workshop will explain the technique needed for holding the fan veil, whether using just one or a pair. This flowing prop comes to tribal belly dance from Asia, adding grace and colour. This is a personal favorite. Silk fan veils are simply beautiful and a visual delight for the audience!
What to bring: silk fan veils (one or a pair).
