Class Levels & Info
Come and enjoy the grace and elegance of tribal style belly dance, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Beginners ATS/Level 1
No experience required.
An introduction to American Tribal Style (ATS) Belly Dance. Learn how our vocabulary of movements and cues allows us to improvise as a group. Basic slow movements, fast steps, posture, body awareness, zills, music and group formations will be introduced so that you’ll be dancing from your first class. Plenty of review will be offered during the term to allow classes to be picked up at any time.
Dress: Please wear something fitted or loose and comfortable, similar to gym attire. Bare feet or soft dance shoes are appropriate. You can wear a hip scarf or tribal belt and/or tribal skirt if you so desire. Bring zills if you have them.
Level 2 ATS
Level 1 experience required.
Refine technique by drilling basic steps and their variations in creative combinations. Build on the partnering and group formation fundamentals learnt in Level 1 and expand your ATS vocabulary.
Cinnabar Unplugged/Performance Preparation
Open to all levels
Chorus, Improvisation and Drills to LIVE music. Formations and improvised choreography, combinations, costuming, stage presence, make-up and hair. All students wishing to perform with CRDC are advised to attend. Dancers will be invited to perform from this class. A donation for our drummers would be appreciated.
Level 3 ATS
Level 2 experience required.
Drills and Technique for Intermediate and Advanced steps used in Improv classes. May include specialty work (eg floor work).
Dangerous Duets
Level 2 experience required. Specialty class – see rates below.
All the slightly scary things that make a performance spectacular. May contain fire or swords. Handle with care!
ATS Advanced Technique
Level 2 experience required. Specialty class – see rates below.
Personal development of ATS skills.
Individual feedback will be given on posture, movement and stage presence.
The technique class on Tuesday will function like a small, limited-numbers workshop. Bookings are required a week in advance, as is payment for the class. If you cannot make the class 24 hrs notice is required to receive a refund.
Troupe Class & Rehearsals
Open to specific performance groups as indicated on class schedule or by arrangement.

Prices for Term 1 2012
Registration Fee: An annual $25 registration fee for ATS classes includes CD compilations of music used in class and lesson notes.
Casual fee is $16 per class (excludes advanced ATS classes – Term Fees only).
Full term of One ATS Class: Term Fee $130
Any Two ATS Classes per term: Term Fee $250
Unlimited ATS Classes: Term Fee $330 – all you can dance!
Specialty class – Advanced Technique: $20 per class, limited numbers. To secure a place please book and pay 1 week in advance. 24hrs notice of cancellation required to receive refund.
Specialty class – Dangerous Duets: $16 per class, $10 for those already paying the ‘all you can dance’ rate for standard classes.
Concession card holders deduct $10 per term from the above prices.
Private Tuition / Critique Sessions
Evangeline is offering 30 minute critique sessions to help iron out any technical flaws in your ATS moves, and to offer advice and instruction for developing your dance practice.
Hour-long privates sessions can also be arranged to help accelerate your dance progress. Contact Evangeline to book a time that suits.
